Medicine Gathering

The Pacific Northwest Council of Water Protectors are hosting Saturday-Monday, September 8-10 in Oxbow Regional Park east of Portland near Corbett. Don't miss it!

​​Goal:

We envision a regional Medicine Gathering of indigenous and non-indigenous supporters to continue protection of our sacred waters and to teach self-sufficiency for our families. Participants will honor the spiritual protocols which guide the camp.

 

Location: Oxbow Regional Park, 3010 SE Oxbow Parkway, Gresham

 

Time: September 8-10 (Sa/Su/Mo) 2018.

 

Objectives:

Indigenous Elders will guide planning and begin and end the days with ceremony.

Families will speak with children in a respectful manner and keep children safe.

Participants will learn indigenous fire making and shelter construction.

Participants will learn about indigenous medicine plants and food storage.

Participants will plan long-term strategy with guidance from indigenous Elders.

 

The Host:  The PNW Council of Water Protectors is a coalition of indigenous and non-indigenous supporters who carry forward the fire that began at Standing Rock to protect our sacred water and maintain the sovereignty of tribal nations.

Day of Music

Saturday May 19th, 2018 at N.A.Y.A.

 

Hosted by Pacific Northwest Council of Water Protectors

Co-sponsored by Portland Chapter A.I.M., Portland’s Earth Generation Council, Portland Rising Tide.

The Day of Music, held at N.A.Y.A. (Native American Youth & Family Center) at 5135 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, Oregon.  

12:00PM to 9:00PM, was a huge success! Many thanks to all the musicians who performed, elders who spoke, and people who came, danced, and helped make this event so inspiring. Water is life!

Funds raised at the Day of Music go toward the Medicine Gathering we are hosting Saturday-Monday, September 8-10 in Oxbow Regional Park east of Portland near Corbett.
